UNIDO ITPO Tokyo, the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye, Investment Office and JETRO jointly organized the “Türkiye-Japan Investment Forum” on Wednesday 13 November, in commemoration of the 100th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Türkiye and Japan. In this forum, the investment environment and opportunities in Türkiye were introduced to 150 participants interested in business and investment opportunities in Türkiye.
At the beginning of the forum, Mr. Nobutaka Maekawa, Executive Vice President, Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), H.E. Mr. Korkut Güngen, Ambassador of Türkiye to Japan and Ms. Takako Tsujisaka Deputy Director-General for International Trade Policy Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) delivered opening remarks.
Following the opening remarks, H.E. Mr. Ahmet Burak Dağlıoğlu, President, Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye, Investment Office gave a keynote speech and introduced recent economic trends and the new strategic process in Türkiye, highlighting investment opportunities for Japanese investors.
The programme continued with two panel discussions amongst public-private stakeholders from Japan. For details on panelists and moderators, please see the programme below.
In Session I, four panelists from the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) Istanbul Office, JBIC Representative Office in Istanbul, Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan (METI) and Nikkei Inc. were featured, and they discussed the investment environment and its advantages in Türkiye.
In Session II, five panelists from Secom Aktif Electric Security Solutions, Mitsui & Co., Europe PLC, Mitsubishi Electric Turkey, MUFG Bank Turkey A.Ş. and Yanmar Holdings Co., Ltd. introduced their businesses in Türkiye, explained the reasons why they chose Türkiye as an investment destination and exchanged opinions regarding the advantages for Japanese companies to do business in Türkiye.
Delivering the closing remarks of the forum, Mr. Ferda Gelegen, Deputy Head of UNIDO ITPO Tokyo, delivered his gratitude to the panelist and participants.
Upon the successful conclusion of the forum, the panelists and participants engaged in lively exchanges in the networking session.
