UNIDO ITPO Tokyo, in collaboration with JETRO, invited 2 delegates from Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission (NIPC) for the period of 13 – 25 February 2017.

   Assistant Director of Policy Advocacy

Mr. Baba, the Japan Desk in charge of supporting Japanese companies, and Mr. Salami have been working for NIPC nearly over 20 years to increase FDI to Nigeria, providing the One Stop Investment Center service including coordination among relevant organizations/agencies, formulating investment policies such as Special Economic Zones, and assisting investors to access incentives etc.

NIPC is ready to assist Japanese investors to provide hand-holding supports, for example, to find local partners and attractive investment projects according to each company’s needs.

Promotional Activities in Japan

The first week in Japan was a training week by JETRO. The delegates also attended Egypt & Nigeria Business Seminar where Ms. Yewande Sadiku, Executive Secretary/CEO of NIPC gave a presentation to Japanese audience on investment/business climate in Nigeria.

In the second week, the delegates had bilateral meetings with Japanese companies who consider Nigeria as their next business destination as well as the ones who are already operating in Nigeria.
