UNIDO ITPO Tokyo hosted Mr. Phonethavong Singhalath, Director, International Investment Cooperation Div., Investment Promotion Dept., Ministry of Planning and Investment of Lao PDR as an investment promotion officer from 27 August to 11 September 2013.

Ever since he joined Investment Promotion Dept., Prime Minister’s Office of Lao PDR in 1995, Mr. Phonethavong has been engaged in activities related to promotion of foreign investments to the country. During his stay in Japan, Mr. Phonethavong met and discussed individually with companies interested in doing business in Lao PDR. He also made a presentation on investment climate and business opportunities in Lao PDR at a seminar held in Yokohama on 3 September 2013.
