UNIDO ITPO Tokyo co-organized the event “Grace” promoting the Myanmar’s traditional fashion and handicrafts, together with Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), JETRO and JICA, on 3 July 2015. The event took place on the occasion of the visit of President Thein Sein to Japan.

The event “Grace” aimed to promote the Myanmar’s traditional costumes and handicrafts by mixing modern designs, thereby widely presenting its attractive local products. It became a great occasion to publicize high potentials of the country’s traditional crafts to the Japanese market.

Attended by the two countries’ leaders Prime Minister Abe and President Thein Sein, installation show and presentation of handicrafts took place in the event, and the spinning of lotus fiber was also demonstrated at the venue. More than 300 participants from fashion sectors and media joined the event.
