The Introduction Seminar of the UNIDO-JMA Business Mission to India on Water Sector was organized in Tokyo at the Embassy of India on 20 October 2015.
India, while experiencing a rapid industrial development, has found the needs for technological improvement on water sector, and UNIDO ITPO Tokyo has observed potential partnership opportunities between Japanese companies and local counterpart in India. In order to introduce the selected technologies from Japan widely towards local investors, policy makers and engineers in India, UNIDO ITPO Tokyo plans to organize the UNIDO-JMA Business Mission to India on Water Sector, targeted to approximately ten (10) Japanese companies.
During the mission, UNIDO ITPO Tokyo coordinates programmes for fact finding of the water-related issues and business environment in India as well as to assist companies to seek business partnerships, through dialogue and meetings, principally with the Indian private sector, but also with the public sector, if applicable. The business mission plans to visit New Delhi, Bangalore and Chennai.
This seminar was organized to introduce the mission to Japanese companies, and to explain about the business environment of India as well as the purposes and objectives of the mission. By inviting Mr. Arvind Singh, Minister (Economic), Embassy of India and Mr. Takashi Shimada, President of Indo Business Centre, Ltd. as the main speakers, approximately 100 people had attended the seminar and it was closed with positive feedbacks from the audience.
