Egypt Startup Investment/Partnership Webinar “Exploring Egypt's Innovation & Startup Ecosystem”, 7 March 2024

Egypt Startup Investment/Partnership Webinar “Exploring Egypt's Innovation & Startup Ecosystem”, 7 March 2024

UNIDO ITPO Tokyo, Economic and Commercial Section, Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Tokyo and Japan Cooperation Center for the Middle East (JCCME), in coordination with ITIDA, will organize the Egypt Startup Investment/Partnership Webinar “Exploring Egypt’s Innovation & Startup Ecosystem” on Thursday 7 March 2024.

Egyptian start-ups have experienced steady growth in recent years, expanding their presence across the Middle East and North Africa region. They are diversifying into various sectors, ranging from e- commerce, fintech, health tech, and logistics digitization to emerging fields like education tech, agritech, and greentech, with Cairo serving as a hub for innovation.

These startups demonstrate significant potential, not only for thriving in Egypt’s domestic market, which boasts a population exceeding 100 million, but also for expanding into the Middle East and Gulf regions, where strong cultural ties and high purchasing power present promising opportunities.

Furthermore, the ecosystem supporting startup success continues to evolve. In Cairo, entrepreneurs have access to a range of resources including facilities, incubators, accelerators, and networking events, facilitating the transformation of innovative ideas into viable businesses.

In response to this growing presence, the Economic & Commercial Department of the Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Japan, the Centre for Cooperation in the Middle East (JCCME) and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization Tokyo Office for the Promotion of Investment and Technology Transfer (UNIDO Tokyo Office), are organizing the webinar.

“Exploring Egypt’s Innovation & Startup Ecosystem”

We will strive to provide Japanese companies with an opportunity to explore business opportunities in Egypt by introducing Egyptian start-up companies with high potential, so we look forward to your participation.
