On occasion of the visit of Hon’ble Mr. Pradeep Kumar Gyawari, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Nepal, the Embassy of Nepal in Japan jointly with UNIDO ITPO Tokyo and JETRO organized “Nepal Investment Seminar” in Tokyo on 20 November 2018.
Followed by the Welcome Remarks by H.E. Mrs. Prativa Rana, Ambassador of Nepal in
Japan, Hon’ble Minister Gyawali made a keynote speech, emphasizing that the country
has gained peace and stability and is moving towards development and prosperity.
He encouraged the audience to invest and transfer technology from Japan to Nepal.
Mr. Maha Prasad Adhikari, CEO of Office of the Investment Board of Nepal (IBN)
introduced the latest investment climate and potential sectors/projects in Nepal,
and concluded his presentation by inviting the audience to join “Nepal Investment
Summit 2019″ to be held in Nepal towards the end of March 2019.
Mr. Mikio Tamada, JICA Expert and Investment Advisor to IBN provided additional
information such as the advantages of and incentives related to investing in Nepal,
which has a potential market of 340 million in the neighboring two states of India,
namely Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.
Mr. Hideaki Hachiya, CEO of EIKEN Co., Ltd. made a testimonial presentation based
on his experience in setting up a factory to produce unburned bricks to the local
market and introduced his plan to expand the business not only in Nepal but also
to the Indian market.
The seminar was attended by over 150 people.
