On 15 November 2023, UNIDO ITPO Tokyo, with the cooperation of Kawasaki City, organized a guided tour at the 16th Kawasaki International Eco-Tech Fair held in Kawasaki, by inviting diplomats from the embassies of developing and emerging countries based in Tokyo.

The tour was part of our “Capacity Building (Embassy Programme)” and its purpose was to learn about the environmentally friendly technologies possessed by Japanese companies. 25 diplomats, including four ambassadors, from 22 embassies participated in the tour.

After the welcome remarks by Kawasaki City Mayor Mr. Norihiko Fukuda, the diplomats were divided into 3 groups and visited the total of 20 company booths at the venue. They learned about the technologies of water treatment and waste management that will be able to contribute to address the social challenges faced by many developing countries. This programme not only provided the learning opportunities with the diplomats from developing and emerging countries but also played a role of technology matching connecting the Japanese technology-holding companies with the home countries wishing the technology transfer from Japan.
