UNIDO ITPO Tokyo cooperated with the Nikkan Kogyo Shimbun, and jointly organized a half day visit for Embassy officials from developing and emerging countries to the International Robot Exhibition 2015 (iREX 2015), which took place at Tokyo Big Sight on 2 December 2015. The Nikkan Kogyo Shimbun was the main organizer of iREX 2015.
A total of 27 diplomats of 20 countries from Asia, Africa and Latin America, participated in the programme.
The programme started with the networking session with iREX exhibitors, followed by the group tour to the selected 4 booths coordinated by the Nikkan Kogyo Shimbun. At each booth the group was given detailed explanations about the latest robot technologies. After the tour, the participants spent 90 minutes to visit individually other booths according to their own interests.
The programme turned out to be very informative and educational. It helped the participants to gain better understanding of the robot industry in Japan.
