African Diplomatic Corps (ADC) organized a site visit to Daifuku Co., Ltd. referred by UNIDO at their material handling demo center “Hini Arata Kan” on 20 July 2018.

Daifuku’s products and systems are widely introduced to automotive plants, semiconductor fabrication and other manufacturing plants, distribution centers, and airports in the world including Africa – their systems are in operation at a Japanese company’s factory in the Republic of South Africa.

The ADC delegation was guided to Non-contact Power Supply Transport system in automobile assembly lines, Conveyors and Storage systems with IoT and AI, Sorting & Picking systems to prevent human errors and maximize efficiency and accuracy, Control systems securing safety of labor, and Cleanroom FA Systems. With a broad range from high-speed automation systems enabled by leading-edge technologies playing a part of Industry 4.0 to systems for achieving high efficiency and safety with existing labor, the tour enriched understanding of latest technologies applied to production and distribution sites.
