UNIDO ITPO Tokyo and Kawasaki City jointly organized a half-day visit to the 11th Kawasaki International Eco-Tech Fair exhibition for diplomats from developing and emerging countries stationed in Tokyo. The event took place in Culttz Kawasaki on 8 February 2019.
On a cold afternoon on 8 February, 26 diplomats from 25 countries gathered at Culttz Kawasaki to see the latest environmentally-friendly technologies and products that the Japanese companies have to offer. The event was jointly organized by UNIDO ITPO Tokyo and Kawasaki City.
“It may be difficult for all the people to use this product, however, we want to impact the lives of people who use”, said Mr. Masaki Yoshimura, the President of Takara Protect Materials Co., Ltd. based in Kawasaki, Kanagawa. The diplomats got to touch the magic Titanium Apatite soap bars which are harmless to human and eco-friendly.
The representative from the Kawasaki Water Business Network has explained the project for developing the water systems by cooperating with both the public and private sector in South-Eastern Asian countries with which Kawasaki City has strong relations.
The diplomats visited a total of 8 booths for two hours, making each visit to the booth as fruitful as possible; holding the samples and asking questions to the exhibitors.
During the closing ceremony, Mayor Mr. Norihiko Fukuda expressed gratitude to the diplomats for visiting his city. “As the city of industry conscious of the environment after having overcome the environmental challenges it had experienced in the past, we cannot be happier if what you have seen today could be of some help to your countries”, said the Mayor.
After the remarks, H.E. Mr. Mathias Chikawe, Ambassador of the Republic of Tanzania, closed the tour with gratitude on behalf of the diplomatic delegations, by noting the vision of creating the new Tanzania’s capital, a modern city by adopting eco-friendly technologies.
