UNIDO ITPO Tokyo invited Ms. Hope Waira, Senior Investment Executive of Uganda Investment Authority (UIA) from September 19 to 29.

Uganda Investment Authority (UIA) is a central agency that deals with foreign investors and manages company registration and various investment procedures in Uganda. UIA is thereby identified as “One Stop Center” for investors bringing all investor-related services under one roof.
Ms. Waira, who has been working for UIA for 16 years, is in charge of providing information to investors and other promotional activities to foreign investors including Japanese companies.
Activities in Japan
During the stay, Ms. Waira had individual meetings with Japanese companies and organizations that are interested in expanding their business in Uganda and shared information on the latest business environment and investment opportunities in the country. She also gave a lecture at “Uganda Business and Investment Seminar” hosted in Tokyo on September 25. Mr. Tadesse Dadi Segni, UNIDO’s advisor in Ethiopia, came to Japan around the same time and joined the visits to the companies.
