eveloping countries face infrastructure vulnerabilities such as unstable slopes, rockfalls, and erosion. The “Mighty Net” technology provides eco-friendly rockfall prevention through tailor-made solutions and three-dimensional wire mesh installation.

“Mighty Net” offers the following solutions.

  • Disaster deterrence: High-quality Mighty Net minimizes the damage of disasters and enhances transportation and distribution security especially during severe weather conditions such as snow and rain.
  • Life-cycle cost advantage: Proper installation reduces rehabilitation and repair costs, lowering total ownership and life-cycle costs. This encourages infrastructure investment budget decision-making from a long-term perspective.
  • Promoting greening: It promotes plant and tree growth on its surface, thus contributing to CO2 reduction and overall climate resilience.

The comparative advantage of “Mighty Net” lies in its broader product selection and the ability to provide tailor-made solutions based on site requirements and budget constraints. The technology allows for weaving wire mesh in various shapes using thick and strong wires that are resilient and difficult to process. Furthermore, the manufacturing of thick, three-dimensional special wire mesh is exclusive to Japan, setting it apart from oversea competitors. This three-dimensional wire mesh can be strategically installed on slopes to stabilize rocky terrain and prevent rockfalls, offering a cost-effective solution with lower life cycle costs compared to methods that react to rockfalls as they occur.

Major Features and Advantages

  • Rockfall prevention: “Mighty Net” prevents the dislodging of loose stones and boulders scattered on slopes. It achieves this by installing a special wire mesh (thick netting) on the slope surface to secure these materials in place.
  • Versatility: “Mighty Net” can be effectively used on both bedrock and sand slopes.
  • Rope spacing: The standard rope spacing is 2.0 m for vertical and horizontal ropes (5.0 m for the 2 x 5 type).
  • Erosion control and stability: The ropes are anchored at the vertical and horizontal rope intersections to minimize erosion of the soil and sand, stabilize the slope surface and promote greening.
  • Construction: “Mighty Net” can also be used as a base material for sprayed soil, seeds, mortar, concrete, etc.

Applicability in Developing countries

Installing “Mighty Net” and enhancing the road’s disaster resistance will ensure punctuality and speed in human flow (commuting to and from work and school in areas along the road, etc.), distribution (movement of goods by large vehicles and maintenance of supply chains), emergency vehicle traffic, and tourist flow.
This, in turn, will contribute to revitalizing the regional economy. Furthermore, “Mighty Net” can promote the greening and significantly improve the local environment.

    Sales Record

“Mighty Net,” an innovative solution for slope stabilization and greening, made its debut in Japan during the early 1990s. Since then, it has gained widespread adoption across the country, covering a cumulative installation area of over 2 million square meters (2,000,000 ㎡).

Notably, “Mighty Net” has also found application beyond Japan. It has been installed in the Philippines and CIS countries, covering 6 million square meters (60,000㎡). This global presence and expansion underscore its effectiveness in addressing slope stability and promoting greener environments worldwide.
