Revolutionary Technology of
Deodorizing by Light! We Are
Tackling on SDGs
P hotocatalytic deodorization device “PCF® Hybrid” is a brand-new purification system for exhaust air with malodor or nasty smell. It consists of TiO2 (titanium dioxide) stabilized on the special catalyst support, UV light source and auxiliaries which are functionally assembled through patented technologies.
- Photocatalytic filter of TiO2 makes bad odor oxidatively decomposed. This is a patented technology.
- Duct construction designed on hydrodynamics, 3D fine cell filter and sandwich-structured cartridge realizes space saving as well as optimized performance of deodorization.
- Objective Performance Assessment in accordance to JIS (Japanese Industrial Standard), ISO test method indicates more than 90% removal of bad odor on average.
- It guarantees sustainable operation of high performance with easy maintenance repeatedly; no additional cost is necessary whereas filters utilizing activated charcoal or other deodorants need to be refilled.

Major Features and Advantages
- Function
Industrial deodorization system featuring photocatalytic filter of TiO2 which has powerful oxidizability.
- Application
Deodorization of exhaust gas from kitchens at commercial facilities or schools and air purification at food processing plants, sewage treatment equipment, industrial waste treatment plants and VOC (volatile organic compound) emitting facilities. It can be installed either indoor or outdoor.
- Performance
Proved performance at photocatalytic assessment test; 92% of Acetaldehyde (stimulating blue smell), 93.5% of Methyl Mercaptan (rotten onion smell) and 94% of Toluene (gasoline smell).
- Advantage
(High Performance)
Sandwich structured cartridge (see Fig. 3), which consist of 2sets of 3D silicon carbide thermostable ultra-light porous structure TiO2 filter with a UV lamp set in-between, improves contact efficiency with odor material and optimizes photocatalytic power.
(Space saving)
Successfully minimized size of system thanks to its internal structure design independently developed with fluid dynamics model featuring CFC, Computational Fluid Dynamic.
(Long life)
Odor material being decomposed into CO2 and H2O on the filter surface; not like activated charcoal filter which saturates, it can be used repeatedly and only a little consumable replacement is required.
(Environment friendly)
High energy saving and contributing to less CO2 emission; 25% less CO2 emission annually in comparison to activated charcoal filter method.

Technology Data
Possible applications
・To improve neighbourhood and work environment of sewage-treatment plants in developing nations by installing the photocatalytic deodorization system to sources of bad odor.
・To contribute to quantitative investigation of bad odor in developing nations by providing with its performance evaluation and improvement status of neighbourhood environment.
・To introduce the assessment method and contribute to human resources development through conducting workshops of odor measurement.
Competitive advantage
Its photocatalytic performance of TiO2 filter has been tested by Aichi Center for Industry and Science Technology, and its deodorizing ability was examined by Environmental Control Center which is approved by Japan Association on Odor Environment; it conforms to ISO14034 as ETV, Environment Technology Verification.
