On Tuesday, 26 September, UNIDO ITPO Tokyo, in cooperation with the Embassy of Bangladesh and the Startup Bangladesh Ltd., will host a webinar titled “Investment Opportunities in Startups in Bangladesh.”

 

Bangladesh is one of the fastest developing nations in the world, with more than half its population under the age of 25. Bangladesh’s startup industry has undergone substantial growth in recent years – more than 1,200 are active, while 200 new ones join the industry annually. Over the past decade, Bangladesh’s Startup Ecosystem has grown tremendously, raising over USD800 million in funding and producing more than 1.5 million employment opportunities. The government of Bangladesh has also been undertaking a number of efforts, including the establishment of the venture capital firm “Startup Bangladesh Limited” to support entrepreneurs and venture capital.

In this seminar, we will be welcoming a speaker from Startup Bangladesh Limited to introduce their services to support early-stage tech-based companies, as well as presenting opportunities for potential Japanese investors on incentives to invest in startups in Bangladesh. Also, Japanese companies with experience investing in Bangladeshi startups will be giving a presentation to share their experiences.
