UNIDO ITPO Tokyo is inviting water specialits from Bangladesh, Myanmar and South Africa in connection with the “Green Innovation Expo 2014 (GIE)” to be held in Tokyo at Tokyo Big Sight from 12th to 14th November 2014.
The three (3) officials will make presentations about the latest situation of water supply in their countries at “UNIDO Seminar on Water Management” to be held on 13th Nov at Tokyo Big Sight. They will also organize business meetings individually with interested parties at UNIDO’s exhibition booth during GIE.

Chittagong is the 2nd largest city in Bangladesh with population of over 3 million. Water supply is one of the most urgent and important issues of the city infrastructure. The government of Japan has been supporting Karnaphuli Water Supply Project providing yen loan. Mr. Sarker is the key person of the said project and is responsible for overall technical aspects of water supply in Chittagong. He is hoping to invite more technical support from Japan.

Mandalay, the 2nd largest city in Myanmar, is expanding rapidly and expected to be the center of national economy but is facing issues such as increasing demand for water and improvement of hygienic safety. JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency) is technically supporting MCDC for filtration plants in cooperation with Kitakyushu City in Japan.
