Jointly with Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan (METI), Overseas Human Resources and Industry Development Association (HIDA), and Japan Productivity Center (JPC), UNIDO ITPO Tokyo will organize a side event to the 6th Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD VI), under the theme “Technology Enabling Innovation and Industrialization in Africa” on 27 August in Nairobi.
“Industrialization” is one of the main themes of TICAD VI and Japan is a good example of successful industrialization, which enables the rapid acquisition of new skills and technological capabilities.
The seminar will focus on productivity, human resources, technology transfer and investment promotion, that are all important factors to achieve industrialization in Africa and where Japan has wide experiences and knowledge. During the side event, each organizer will present its current activities in Africa, and discuss the way forward to contribute to development on the continent.
