UNIDO ITPO Tokyo is inviting Mr. Ali Mehrez, Director in charge of diverse sectors of Moroccan Investment and Export Development Agency (AMDIE) to Japan for 17-21 February 2020, to interact and cooperate with Japanese companies interested in doing business with Morocco.
Nearly 60 Japanese companies are operating in Morocco, which ranks the second in Africa, supported by condusive investment environments led by the government, such as Tangier MED port and freezone located just 14km adjacent from Europe, skilled Human Resources, and infrastructure like TGV. In January 2020, Investment Agreement and Tax Convention were signed between Japan and Morocco, which will also contribute to a good investment climate of the country.
AMDIE is in charge of promoting national and foreign investment in Morocco as well as the trade of goods and services. The agency is committed to supporting all economic actors throughout their entire life cycle.
AMDIE lists five merits for foreign investors to invest in Morocco;
- Low risk in economy and security
- Strategical location for access to Europe and North America
- Openness through trade agreements and government supports
- Competitivity derived from affordable cost, well-trained human resources and industrialization
- African investment platform as a financial hub in the region
AMDIE interacts with foreign investors to promote investment in Morocco and is working on inviting Japanese industries and technologies to Morocco. For this time Mr. Ali Mehrez will have individual meetings with potential Japanese investors and provide talier-made information depending on their interests and needs.
