UNIDO and the Permanent Mission of Japan to the International Organizations in Vienna are pleased to invite you to the webinar “UNIDO-Japan Cooperation: Mitigating the Impacts of COVID-19 through Technology Transfer from Japan”, to take place on 24 March via the Interprefy online platform. The event consists of a high-level session and a project case studies session.
In order to mitigate the socio economic impacts of the pandemic, in cooperation with the Government of Japan, UNIDO has been strengthening the capacity of both technology providers and stakeholders in partner countries since 2020. Through this project, 12 leading Japanese technologies have contributed to improving the human health and hygiene environments of 10 countries in Africa and Asia (See, List of the partner countries and technology providers).
The webinar is based on this UNIDO-Japan cooperation project, and brings together multiple stakeholders, including Japanese private companies and partners on site, who will share their experiences and ideas.
UNIDO’s Investment and Technology Promotion Office, Tokyo (ITPO Tokyo) used its unique “Sustainable Technology Promotion Platform (STePP)”to mobilize 12 Japanese companies, and ensure effective and fast transfer of technology. The webinar will provide food for thought on the role of ITPO, and how to benefit from their potential.
